Event Description:
               Third Thursday Reading Program
Thursday, May 17th, from 4:30-5:30 PM, the George W. Bush Childhood Home will be holding a FREE reading event for children of all ages in our Visitor Center. We will read several books including a feature book, “Finding Susie”, a book written by Sandra Day O’Connor about an event in her childhood.  Each child will get snacks, a free copy of the book to call their own and a gift from Whataburger.
Space is limited so call 685-1112 to reserve a space for your child.
The goal of the Laura Bush Literacy Program is to foster a love for reading in children.  Reading events are scheduled the 3rd Thursday of each month for kids of all ages.
The George W. Bush Childhood Home also has the Laura Bush Bookshelves, which are also fully stocked and ready for children of all ages to receive a free book to call their own.  Come by during our normal business hours and pick out your book!   Limit 1 book per child/day.  You can also exchange your old books for new ones. New or gently used book donations are always welcomed.  Drop your books off in our Gift Shop during our normal business hours.
Reading events are sponsored by Whataburger, The Morrow Family Foundation & The Texas Pecos Trail Region
