Wizard of Oz exhibit to open at Centennial Library

Libraries to offer limited Saturday hours beginning September 12

Travel over the rainbow and into Oz at Centennial Library this fall as Midland County Public Libraries (MCPL) invites Midlanders to experience the Wizard of Oz Educational Exhibit. The licensed traveling exhibit based on the classic movie opens September 8 and remains on view through December 19.

MCPL will open 10 am to 2 pm Saturdays beginning September 12 to allow patrons more time to view the exhibit. Visitors also may view the exhibit from 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.  The exhibit will be cleaned multiple times each day and visitors must wear masks or face-coverings.

Walkthrough the movie marquee and visit the Gale Farm and the Wagon of Professor Marvel before an adventure-filled journey through Munchkinland, The Witch’s Castle, and The Emerald City. Meet iconic characters SCARECROW™, COWARDLY LION™ and TIN MAN™.

The only Wizard of Oz exhibit licensed by Warner Bros. Consumer Products, the exhibit features movie elements including the RUBY SLIPPERS™. The exhibit appeals to all ages and promises fun for the whole family. Visitors who remember the movie’s release will relive memories as they walk through the scenes and take in objects from the movie. Younger visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the iconic film while exploring themes of courage, friendship, and the true meaning of home.

The exhibit is made possible by FMH Foundation, Rea Charitable Trust, Helen Greathouse Charitable Trust, Pevehouse Family Foundation, Midland County Public Library Foundation, and Midland County.

THE WIZARD OF OZ™ Educational Exhibit was created by Miami Children’s Museum and SPARKS, in conjunction with Warner Bros. Consumer Products. THE WIZARD OF OZ™ and all related characters and elements © & ™ Turner Entertainment Co.
