MISD's Kindergarten Roundup Now Open

June 16, 2020 - Kindergarten Roundup is now underway for students ready to begin school at Midland ISD. This year, for the first time, the process will take place entirely online.

"Beginning school is such an exciting time for both students and parents," said Chief Communications Officer Elana Ladd. "That's why we're thrilled to roll out this program that makes the process easier for parents, and enables us to maintain social distancing at the same time."

Parents are now able to register by uploading the following documents:

  • Your child's birth certificate
  • Your child's shot record
  • Your child's social security card
  • Proof of residence (copy of lease or recent utility bill)
Parents wishing to register their child for kindergarten can get started at midlandisd.net/enroll. This will guide parents through the process, which includes creating a Family account on Skyward, where registration will take place.

In past years, first-time students were required to visit the campus with their parents to register. This also provided an opportunity to become familiar with the campus. Since registration is now taking place online, each elementary school has produced a Kindergarten Welcome video, available on the campus webpage, to introduce students and parents to their school virtually.

"Our kindergarten teachers, Principals and the entire elementary team are so excited to meet our next generation of scholars," Ladd said. "We hope these videos help students and parents alike start the process of becoming part of our school communities."

Parents with additional questions may contact their campus, familyaccesshehlp@midlandisd.net, or the Office of Student Data Systems at 432-240-1250.

Please be aware that Kindergarten registration is separate from our Pre-K application process, which must be completed via Apply Midland (midlandisd.net/apply).
